Below are some additional campus resources that students may find useful:

Academic Skills Center

Offers a wide variety of retention programs and campus support services including:

*Note: Consider taking a Study Skills Inventory (Cook Counseling Center, Virginia Tech) to help determine the Study Skills Seminar/s that may be most useful to you.

Counseling Services

Offers a particular kind of listening and an expertise in human development, along with strategies to support your personal, social, and emotional growth. Services are available to all currently enrolled students.

Health Services

Located next to the Recreation Center, the Health Center provides care by appointment and on an urgent care basis for most student illnesses and injuries.

Community Resources

  • California State Department of Rehabilitation provide services and advocacy that assist people with disabilities to live independently, become employed and have equality in the communities in which they live and work.
  • Central Coast Assistive Technology Center solves challenges in employment, lifelong learning, productivity and independent living through the provision of assistive technology services and ergonomic training.
  • San Luis Obispo County Mental Health offers mental health treatment services for our county’s youth, adults, and senior citizens and help with family, personal, or psychiatric issues, with clinics located in the North County, South County, and in San Luis Obispo.
  • Runabout Paratransit Service offers county-wide ADA paratransit services. Please contact the Disability Resource Center at 805-756-1395 for additional information.
  • Disability Rights California works to advance the rights of Californians with disabilities.
  • California Voter Registration: The DRC (bldg 124/room 119) front office has voter registration forms available.  Additionally, voter registration can be done online,  through the California Secretary of State Voter Registration site via a web-based voter registration form.  The San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder office offers voter polling site accessibility information on their website, just prior to each election, including photos and accessibility comments for polling sites throughout the county, to inform voters with disabilities about their polling place accessibility features. Additionally, SLO County uses the AutoMARK accessible voting station, to support voters with disabilities or impairments who have difficulty using the standard voting station.
